What 3 Books Would I Take To A Deserted Island?

EXPLORE BY CATEGORY

What book could you read over and over again?

Hmm…there’s plenty of options here. But I much prefer taking three: one for my soul, one for my mind, and one for leisure.

For my soul, I would take the Bible because there’s so much wisdom packed within its pages. More than that though, is that I believe it to be a living text that changes as you change, so it’s not really possible to read it too many times because each time is different.

For my mind (and soul), I would take Thoreau’s Walden. While it’s dry at points, it’s still got so many life changing ideas to ponder. And if you’re abandoned on an island you’re going to need to know how to live simply!

Last, for leisure I think I would bring The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It’s a long book to keep you engaged, but it’s got some of the most beautiful prose I’ve seen in fantasy, and I’m a sucker for beautiful writing.

What about you? What would your three books be? Let me know in the comments.
