Where would you go on a shopping spree?

I’m not really much of a materialistic person in general. But books are my exception…I don’t just like them. I hoard them. I rescue any lost books with unrealistic fantasies of reading them all “someday”. I could read every second for the rest of my life and still wouldn’t get through my library.

…and yet. If I went on a shopping spree it would definitely be in a bookstore. Not just one but spread across multiple small, indie bookstores filled with rare and unusual books. First editions. Signed editions. Antiquarian with beautiful Victorian cloth bindings. Or perhaps elegant leather.

I know I don’t need anymore (I’m currently on a buying ban), but if I had to go on a shopping spree, this bibliophile would be buying nothing but books.

Any book collectors? Let me know what you read or collect in the comments.

  1. Ah books, Justin. When I was younger I dreamed of having a library in my home with floor to ceiling books, a rolling ladder and a window seat. The reality is none of those, but I still dream. Loved this post and the image. How magical.

  2. Me too and started to live it out, but when you fantasize about it the amount of space required or the amount of dusting you have to do never enters your mind. Add messy kids into the mix, and it becomes something of a nightmare 😂
