Following the Light – A Poem About God’s Healing In Our Brokenness
In the shattered glass
of our brokenness,
we see mirrors reflecting light.
We then trace the lines
of beams like penciled angles,
following them to divine heights.
Justin Farley

Sometimes the biggest gift in life is to have everything you cherished and thought was important shatter so that in the pieces you can see what’s really important. For in our brokenness, we’re offered the opportunity to be recreated into a greater work of art.
What event has transformed your life? Addiction definitely reshaped mine. Suffering isn’t always something to avoid. It can be a great agent of change.
Sometimes I need to remember that I am broken–not worthless, not unworthy, but in need of being put back together. It’s only in this reflection that I can see the beams of light that point upwards to a God offering aid, redemption, and a journey towards love and healing.
