Until I Met You – A Love Poem

The world stands still when I gaze
Into your eyes of blue.
Beloved, love was nothing more than
A foolish errand until the day that I met you.
'Twas like an emerging butterfly
The way you transformed my soul.
Once inched along the ground,
Now fly since you've restored me whole.
The hands of time move slower
Each hour that finds us apart.
Your love plays louder each day
Through the chambers of my heart.
In my darkened night you brought
The light that led me on 'til morn'.
For in the beauty of your sight
The veil of darkness was torn.
Be not afraid, for the love
I have for you is true.
Love was nothing more than a dreamer's desire
Until the day that I met you.
