Love’s Reprise – A Love Poem
There was a time when the stars never shined
And beauty withered and decayed,
But now her love is mine – goddess surely divine,
Beauty’s finest role ever played.
Heart of gold, soul as old
As yonder oak in forest green.
Another story told, a new chapter unfolds
About a lowly pauper and his queen.
Skies once dark, clouds now scatter and part
To reveal a most glorious sun.
She ignited a spark, set a blaze in my heart
Hotter than any other has ever done.
The future looks bright, love lit the night
With a single look in her eyes.
Love at first sight, spirits soared in delight
On the night of love’s reprise.
